Food & Science: CoFutures with Bodhisattva Chattopadhyay at Intercultural Museum
April 14 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Bodhisattva Chattopadhyay studies Science Fiction at the University of Oslo and is the Principal Investigator of the newly funded ERC project “CoFutures: Pathways to Possible Presents.” He is also the founding co-editor of Routledge Studies in Global Genre Fiction.
What kind of futures are we imagining, and what happens when multiple visions of the future are in conflict with each other? Using science fictional futures as a launchpad, Chattopadhyay make a case for how we may use speculation to work towards the possibilities of “our common future” (Brundtland Report, 1987). He explores decolonization debates over the last decade in the field and its impact on envisioning possible common futures.
There will be a meny consisting of Indian cuisine provided by guest-chef Rashmi Rajaro based on the theme “india goes futurespace – future is green?”
Price of admission: 360kr (ordinary), 220kr (student).
